Dortmund Hopeful Of Lewandowski Return

Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp is hopeful star striker Robert Lewandowski will be fit for Saturday’s Bundesliga clash with Borussia Moenchengladbach, he said on Thursday.

The Polish international, who is joint second in the league scoring charts with 15 goals, missed last weekend’s 1-0 win at Freiburg having picked up a knee injury the week before.

“He trained on his own today (Thursday) but the idea is that he will join group training on Friday,” said Klopp.
Attacking midfielder Marco Reus is unlikely to recover in time from his muscle problem, though.

“He’s run a bit but, barring a miracle, he won’t be with us on Saturday,” added Klopp.

Dortmund are second in the Bundelsiga, 20 points behind runaway leaders Bayern Munich and looking for revenge on eighth-placed Gladbach, who inflicted their first defeat of the season back in October.
