JAMB Candidate Arrested With A Locally Made Gun Inside An Examination Hall In Nassarawa

Officials of the National Security and Defence Service Corps NSCDC, Nasarawa state, have arrested a 21 year old candidate of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME, for possessing a locally made pistol and two rounds of live ammunition inside one of the examination halls in Nasarawa state.

Confirming his arrest, the state commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Bashir Lawal-Kano, said the suspect when interrogated, said someone gave him the gun for safe keeping. Lawal-Kano added that the suspect would soon be charged to court for illegal possession of arms.

JAMB examinations is ongoing nationwide.
